The MA degree study course "Development Studies in Social and Educational Sciences” is being developed by seven universities from six participating countries.

The aim is to work towards a qualification for people working in the areas of social care, social justice, education and allied occupations and to enable them to critically understand dimensions of social discrimination within Europe.

The MA specifically concentrates on a common focus - developing visions and action-strategies that can form a "Social Community of Europe". It will enable graduates to be better informed in the area of human rights and social justice with regard to those who have suffered discrimination (e.g. disabled people, poor people, drug addicted, chronically ill people, the mentally ill, the elderly, people in custody and migrants).Ultimately it is intended that graduates will become qualified to play a key part in helping people to help themselves to become inclusive citizens.

All who study this course will be better informed and qualified in regard to European social inclusion and the ways in which European perspectices on social inclusion are being shaped.
